.РУС registration rules

The key points in English. The official text of the rules is in Russian; translations are for convenience only and do not create obligations.

In short

Cyrillic only. Russian letters а–я including ё, digits and hyphens. No mixing with Latin.
3 to 63 characters. A name starts and ends with a letter or digit.
Registration term: 1 to 10 years. Renew any number of times, up to 10 years ahead in total.
Two working DNS servers are required for the domain to be delegated, otherwise the website will not open.
Open to everyone: individuals and organisations from any country.
The holder can transfer the domain to another person or to another registrar under ICANN policies.
Applications may be refused if the purpose of registration does not match the mission and values of .РУС. Abuse such as phishing, malware, spam or illegal content is handled under the Anti-Abuse Policy.
